Sustainability

Building with the land, for the generations that follow.

Sustainability Philosophy

Every decision we make, we make with the next generation in mind.

Sustainability, for Delaware, is not a policy document or a marketing position. It is the operating principle that guides every material we choose, every partner we engage, every design decision we make, and every gram of waste we refuse to generate.

In an industry often characterised by its environmental footprint, we choose a different path. We honour the land that makes our work possible by treating it as a partner, not a resource.

We do not build on the Serengeti.
We build with it.

Sustainability Pillars

Five Commitments. One Standard.

Farm-to-Table Sourcing

Pillar 01

Farm-to-Table Sourcing

Our lodges cultivate small, organic farms that supply fresh produce directly to our kitchens. Guests experience the authentic flavours of Tanzania, grown steps from where they dine. Nothing is flown in that can be grown here.

Local Artisan Partnerships

Pillar 02

Local Artisan Partnerships

We partner with Sidai through Dunia Design to source handcrafted local décor that brings cultural authenticity and economic opportunity to Tanzanian artisans. Every detail in our spaces tells a story that belongs to this land.

Ecosystem Preservation

Pillar 03

Ecosystem Preservation

Our developments within the Serengeti are designed with minimal ecological footprint, in full alignment with TANAPA guidelines. We integrate conservation education into our guest programming, and a portion of all lodge revenues is dedicated to wildlife and habitat preservation.

Local Employment & Skills Development

Pillar 04

Local Employment & Skills Development

Every destination we create is designed to create opportunities long before the first guest arrives. We prioritise local hiring wherever possible, providing training, mentorship, and career pathways that enable people from surrounding communities to build long-term futures within the hospitality industry. Our commitment extends beyond employment. Through partnerships with organisations such as the Hope for girls Centre, we support young women through English-language education, professional development, and mentorship programes led by members of our hospitality teams. By investing in skills, confidence, and opportunity, we help prepare the next generation for meaningful careers in one of Tanzania's fastest-growing industries
